My website HOME page ws due for an update after three years. Because their are many departments to my site I wanted to simplify the image. I didnt want it too simple as to be boring. I added movement with background graphics. I also wanted the emphasis on 'design' which is my basic approach in all that I do. I've listed the departments on the right with staggered type to also add a bit of movement. The background graphics highlight the list with yellow.

When designing a logo, there is a lot more to it than 'laymen' think. Research + development; symbols, graphics; fonts; the relationships with positive and negative shapes; colors; size; etc. Other issues that have to be considered is how the logo will be used; will the logo be readable down to one inch in size?; can the logo be reproduced as black and white line, greyscale or reversed and can it be applied in various colors?; Keeping it simple, trying not to use graduated tints and multiple colors is also considered. The 'mentoring initiative' logo was created to help recruite more men into the field of nursing.
The School of Nursing logo was recreated to depict represented the various elements of the nursing school.

My goal was to create a clean, upscale publication easy to read and visually pleasing.The logo masthead, simple, classic with a depiction of the Lake but also indicative of the 'Drive'.

May 2020 is the first anniversary of "Book Cover of The Month Award." This contest was created to call-out authors and publishers to submit their best designed book cover. The seal was designed to depict class and make this a legitimate compeition. Composition, selection of fonts, photography and illustrations are all taken into consideration. Winning covers are promoted for up to three weeks. No children's book covers. Books are judged only by the cover, not the story. Entries are international.
